Stand Tall
For PTS
Stand Tall for PTS was founded in 2011 by Tony Dell who had spent nearly a year in Vietnam as a national serviceman with 2RAR in 1967 / 1968. For the next forty years he suffered the affects of PTSD without know the reasons why.
His experiences during that forty years and the research he undertook after finally being diagnosed made him realise how much work was needed to be done to improve the lives of so many military and veterans who’s lives have been afflicted with this illness.

Stand Tall was originally founded in 2011 to create public awareness of PTSD and to try to destigmatise the perception of this illness. Stand Tall then moved on to make representations to Government to try to convince them to spend their money more wisely. Since 2011 it seems that the success rate of managing this illness ( there is no cure….yet) has stagnated at around 30%. It is Stand Tall’s belief that most if not all of the Veteran suicides come from that 70% who are not being treated adequately. Since 2022 Stand Tall has now moved on from just awareness and is now endeavouring to be more proactive.
REDSIX
REDSIX is an Australian made ‘Mental Health’ initiative designed and created in 2018 by Australian Army veteran, Mike Handley, from lived experience in one of the highest suicide risk demographics globally, the military.

After nearly 7 years’ service in the Army and 2 overseas deployments, Mike’s experienced common issues when leaving the military, from withdrawal, social isolation, difficulty in finding employment and eventually PTSD, depression, anxiety, alcohol addiction through to suicidal ideology.

REDSIX was created due to the rising rate of modern-day veterans losing the battle within after returning home from operational demands and within 6 months of its release, REDSIX became the number one downloaded veteran support app in Australia.
